Pre/Post is a new collaborative project lead by Edmonton’s Mat Halton. Essentially pop rock with an urban vibe, Pre/Post has catchy hooks soaring over groovy, danceable hip-hop and rock rhythms. Mat’s vocals are fluid and bold, the bass is fat, and the electric and acoustic beats are infectious. The band is rounded out by Tyrn Armstrong on drums, Ryan Miller on bass, and programming/keys by Jonathan Halton.
pumpin' out pure gold - Vue Weekly
Thematically, pre/post is about advocacy for youth. As a Child and Youth Care worker, Mat’s writing is a platform to tell of urban youths’ strength and resilience; pre/post’s urban feel is a shout-out to the teens that have changed his life. The songs are all narratives of Mats’ experiences with these amazing individuals…
Pre/post’s has just released their debut EP, ‘Strangers in the City’; now available as cd or digital download.

Andrew Pahl released his first full length album Dreams Deferred in the fall of 2006. Lured to the Alberta city in 2004, Andrew assembled a collection of his best songs and recorded the bulk of the album on his own acting as artist, producer and engineer. From the atmospheric sway of 'Angels After All' to the driving rock of 'The World Surrounds You' to the delicate acoustic guitar and cello duet of 'Across the Waves' this is one album that is sure to capture you with its depth of pure emotion and longing.
lush, melodic, emotional songs
Mixing one part Elliott Smith, two parts Duncan Sheik and a pinch of Pete Yorn, 'Dreams Deferred' soars from the highest of sonic rock majesty to the whisper of a lush pop valley; all while maintaining the true artistry of Andrew's music, an undeniable sense of melody.
'The music is all very good; tightly constructed melodies and superb recording by Pahl himself make this a great album to listen to...' - Vue Weekly

Stone and Chisel is an electronic music project from Jonathan Halton. It is a labour of love (though sometimes more labour less love). Please harass Jonathan so he gets off his ass and puts out a record from the 30+ S&C songs he's written. Please? (Did you notice the first half of that sentence kinda rhymed? Fo' Real.)
